About Us

Equitable access to STEM education

Our mission is to promote software engineering internships for university students in underserved communities — we believe in quality life-opportunities for STEM students.

Our focus is on Black, Brown, Latinx, and Indigenous groups in North America and the Caribbean. We sustain our operations through revenue generated by our software projects.

Our Volunteers

A more equitable future in STEM

Our community of interns, mentors, and volunteer contributors represents the global diversity we champion — spanning from Kingston to Bangalore, from California to Cairo, with developers and students from over 19 timezones collaborating on open-source software solutions.

With nearly 3,000 developers actively engaging with our flagship repositories, the Palisadoes Foundation has become a hub where emerging talent meets experienced professionals, where university students gain real-world experience, and where inclusive technology development creates pathways to opportunity.

Through hands-on internships and community-driven projects, we’re not just writing code — we’re building a more equitable future in STEM, one commit at a time.
